Switching careers at a fine-like-wine age is no easy task, especially when the prospective field is unrelated to your formal education or work experience. After years of remaining persistent, I’ve finally been blessed with the opportunity to do some Brand writing. The Digital Media company in which I work as an Accountant has finally given me the green light on joining their Media department. Talk about blessed! After being told NO a year and a half ago due to a lack of credentials, I’ve managed to build my portfolio and ultimately get that YES. I’ve interned, I’ve freelanced, I've networked and yes, it was all worth it... Your girl is an official, PAID, writer! I am on my way. Bye-bye Finance, hello Media. My foot is in the building! Thank you Jesus!

Common Denominator

I’ve dated many men but in actuality, I’ve really only dated one. For some strange reason, I continue to attract the same type of man. What signal am I putting out there that calls on all the crazies??? At some point you have to question yourself and see what it is that you possess that draws a certain type of person. I think it’s time for a reality check.

On The Come Up

My friends think I’m crazy for always making cameo appearances at different events as if I’m getting paid to go. I agree… somewhat. However, I believe relationships illuminate the pathway to success, hence my reason for always getting out to network and socialize. I may go a bit overboard- birthday events aren’t a must, nor are housewarmings, but I feel if I support you, you may support me… I’m optimistic. Now, with that being said, the next time I host an event, I’d better see your ass there!
